Role: Lead Designer, Shopify Development

Project Scope: M

Overview

Gandzee was a local family start-up company selling high end, coordinated children’s clothing online. They had already worked with a designer to produce their branding and contracted a content and marketing strategy firm, Kismet Communications to help them build out their “store”. Collaborating with Kismet, we got to work. Kismet worked through their marketing plan and developed content for the site.

Gandzee was looking to carve out a niche, geared towards busy mom’s with young children. The difference between Gandzee and other stores was that they sold the clothing as a wardrobe package. Carefully curating a collection of coordinating items that could be mixed and matched into a number of outfits.

Problem

  • Design and build an e-commerce site for a new brand selling a unique product.
  • Determin which platform would be best suited to use for the store that would be easy for the owners to maintain themselves.
  • The site would require multiple template layouts as well as a secure shopping cart component.

Action

After researching several online shopping services, I recommended Shopify as their storefront. I designed a user experience that was simple and easy to navigate. Using their logo as a jumping off point, I crafted a user interface that utilizes color and a clean aesthetic to provide a clutter free environment in which to shop.
